Pasture dieback trials: Project update
This webinar shares the latest findings from the Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) pasture dieback trials held in Queensland. Now four years in, the research focus is now on understanding how dieback can be managed.
Dr Naomi Diplock (AHR’s pasture dieback project leader) provides an overview of pasture dieback, how to recognise symptoms in the field, and what the long running management trials are revealing about maintaining feed supply in affected paddocks. Stuart Buck (DPI) discusses where dieback is occurring, the factors influencing its severity, and the range of management options currently being tested across key regions. Lastly we hear from Dr Caroline Hauxwell (QUT), who outlines what is known about the pasture mealybug, how it drives dieback, and recent investigations into its seasonal patterns and identification.
Watch now for a full breakdown of the results so far and to learn about the resources emerging to support producers in pasture recovery moving forward.
